My name is RoXanne WebsteR and this is my blog. It’s where I reflect, remember, and rebuild. Sometimes it’s about art. Sometimes it’s about life. But it’s always about becoming.
THE ARTIST
I’m an artist. That doesn’t just mean I paint, it means I see the world through the lens of transformation. Since 2018, I’ve painted an annual self-portrait as a way to see myself clearly. Each year, my brush tells the truth, even when I’m still figuring things out.
THE MOTHER
I’m also the mother of four sons- TJ, Nate, Theo, and Hunter. They’ve each shaped my life and my art in their own way. You’ll see them appear often in what I write and create. They often inspire me and give me suggestions when I’m working on projects so let this be their credit.
THE TWIN
I’m a twin to Diane. She is the kindest person I know, and she also happens to be my other half. Our bond runs deeper than blood, it’s memory level. She’s the yin to my yang.
THE WORKER
I work as a security guard. It’s a job I love because it fits my life puzzle; it gives me space to think, paint, and be a present parent. It’s not glamorous, but it’s just right for me.
THE BUILDER
I am the founder of Plaitx, an app built to support Black communities by giving us a space to buy, sell, and circulate our goods. While it’s made for us, it’s open to all who support Black networking.
WHY THIS BLOG EXISTS
I’m not pretending to have everything figured out. But I am building something real; one painting, one post, one return at a time.
